- Darla Farmer | June 26, 2008 08:41
- Our very own Darla Farmer, Nashville's favorite carnival-rock band, has just announced that they're launching a full album remix competition around their debut album, "Rewiring The Electric Forest"!
The band recorded their album in Omaha, NE this summer around Saddle-Creekers such as Cursive, The Faint, Maria Taylor and more, so for those of you that want to have your remix abilities heard, now is the time! The remix album, which will be titled, "Remixing The Electric Forest" will be digitally released this summer!
Paper Garden is now opening the floor for submissions and would love to hear what you can do with the album! We're looking for the most diverse and creative remix compilation album, so if you manage to make one of the songs sound like something from Celine Dion, not only will you be disqualified, but also most likely personally insulted (sorry Canada!). The good news, though, is if you manage to create the kick-ass remix that we're looking for, your remix will not only mark your certain road to endless success, but will also be marketed everywhere with your name attached!
Please check out the band here and at www.myspace.com/darlafarmer. Let Bryan know if you are interested in submitting a remix by emailing him at bryan@papergardenrecords.com. Submit as many remixes for consideration as you like!
- Missed SXSW?
- April 22, 2008 11:58
- Did you miss Peasant and Darla Farmer at SXSW? Shame on you! However, here's a recap for you: Peasant represented Paper Garden first at the Planetary Group day party. Held at Maggie Mae's, the party included two full floors of bbq, goody bags, and great music (Longwave, Cloud Cult, Starsailor, and more). Saturday was the day that Paper Garden's darlings really got to shine. Both Peasant and Darla Farmer performed as part of the After the Jump/Indie Outlaw/Paper Garden Records day party at Lucky Lounge. Attendees walked away with an engraved music experience along with a stomach full of pizza and arms full of goodie bags and freebies! Darla Farmer also rocked out at the Pangea Patio for the Stranded In Stereo party later in the day.
